JSaRC works with numerous organisations from the security sector to achieve its aims. The specialist knowledge and expertise of the personnel associated with these organisations are extremely valuable to the government’s efforts in meeting its security challenges.

Our Current Partners

Academic RiSC was established in 2014 to encourage greater academic involvement in research that aims to solve challenges in national security and has now grown to a network of around 50 UK universities. It is recognised by the Home Office, other government departments and by industry as an important conduit to expertise in this field and is currently chaired by Cranfield University.

ADS is the trade association advancing the UK’s aerospace, defence, security and space industries and has over 1,100 member companies across all four sectors, with over 950 of these companies identified as Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs).

The UK’s security and resilience sector provides solutions to challenges we all face today and continues to make a major contribution to growth and prosperity in every part of the country. Turnover growth of 142% since 2010 means security and resilience is one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK directly employing 114,000 people and supporting 3,000 apprentices across the sector. Security exports are worth £5.2bn to the UK, with cyber security worth £2.1bn of the total, and the UK is the fourth largest security exporter worldwide.

ADS and JSaRC

ADS is a founding partner of, and serves as the secretariat for, the UK’s Security and Resilience Industry Suppliers Community (RISC). Both directly and as an active member of RISC, ADS works with JSaRC daily. This includes delivering Security and Policing, the Home Office’s official event; policy activities on issues such as security procurement; operational projects such as Crowded Spaces; and providing two secondees in support of the JSaRC work programme.

RISC is the leading inclusive alliance of trade associations, suppliers and other organisations representing the UK’s security and resilience sector.

Established in 2007, RISC serves as the principal channel of communication between the UK security and resilience industry, the Homeland Security Group (HSG) within the Home Office, and other government departments and agencies on security-related requirements and policy issues. RISC represents around 6,000 companies by virtue of the representative organisations which participate.

The Chairmanship of RISC is currently held by Sir Kevin Tebbit (formerly the Director of GCHQ, Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, and currently Senior Vice President – Corporate Affairs at Smiths Group plc).

Alongside the Minister for Security, the Chairman of RISC co-chairs the Security and Resilience Growth Partnership (SRGP), which meets three times a year as the UK’s primary strategic forum designed to shape and oversee the activity of government-industrial cooperation on security issues.
