Security & Policing 2023 | 14-16 March 2023

Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre 14 March 2023

Event Overview

Security and Policing 2023

Security & Policing (S&P) is where innovation & partnership meet. Hosted by JSaRC at Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, it is the Home Office’s annual exhibition and conference which provides the opportunity to demonstrate world leading UK security capabilities and strengthen the Home Office’s relationships with our international partners.

This year the event exceeded expectations by attracting over 7,500 attendees, 350+ exhibitors, 30 HMG and law enforcement departments and representation from 65 countries over the three days. The event was themed around Securing our Future Safety and Prosperity; Advancing National Security & Resilience; Policing Innovation and Protecting our People & Places. The aim being to provide innovative content, opportunities to network, key sector insights as well as high-level engagement and partnership opportunities between UK suppliers, academia, Government officials and senior decision makers across law enforcement and security from the UK and overseas.

Keynote addresses and attendance included a pre-recorded welcome address by the Home Secretary. In-person addresses came from the Minister for Security, the Minister for Crime, Policing and Fire, Chief Constable – College of Policing CEO, and many more.

The Innovation Zone was a brand-new feature to the show which brought together Government, industry and international partners to collaborate on how innovation, science and technology (IST) can help solve the latest security and policing challenges. Government partners presented technical problems and demand signals on current and future capability gaps to engage with industry, as well as how they can provide gateway access to funding and/or collaboration opportunities to deliver IST solutions.

A key attraction was JSaRC’s ‘Immersive Feature’ Operation Haystack – The Search is On: Escape Room Experience. This year’s immersive was based on the timed escape room model which had progressive stations with a single solution. The challenge showcased different security skills that can be employed as part of an effort to stop a terrorist incident. It was a huge success with 330 visitors, including international delegates from the USA, Turkey, Denmark and Algeria.

On the final day, 17 students and 4 lecturers from Farnborough College of Technology attended the show for a three-hour visit – a first for S&P. The selected students are currently undertaking a BTEC Level 3 in Uniformed Protective Services and many have hopes of working within the emergency and armed services. The agenda for the visit included various presentations from security professionals, exhibitor stand visits and live demonstrations.

We hope you are able to join us at S&P 2024 and look forward to welcoming you equally as a first-timer or regular attendee. Further details for both visitors and exhibitors can be found here: Security and Policing 2024 – The Official UK Government Global Security Event, 12 – 14 March 2024
