JSaRC Update – 13 June 2019
Welcome to the latest JSaRC Update.
Head of JSaRC, Shaun Hipgrave promoted to new role in OSCT

Shaun Hipgrave, Head of JSaRC, has with immediate effect, been appointed Acting Director for Protect, Prepare, CBRNE and Science & Technology (PPCS) in OSCT for the period of one year. Shaun has done an outstanding job leading JSaRC to deliver Home Office and industry objectives. JSaRCs exciting joint work programme across government, industry and academia will be taken forward with the same energy over the coming year.

In his new role, Shaun is the cross-Government SRO for Protect and Prepare. PPCS owns the policy on many of the projects that JSaRC is currently enabling delivery for, and this move will strengthen JSaRC’s reach, and through that, continue to build on industry and academic engagement into key policy areas.

Richard Alcock is currently considering options for an interim head of JSaRC. As the Chief Operating Officer of OSCT, he will continue to oversee JSARC, working closely with Angela Essel (Head of the Joint Response Team) and Nick Smith (Head of Strategy and Operations) ensuring our joint organisations continued success.
